Entries are now open for the One Young World Virgin Unite NewNow Program. The NewNow, a flagship initiative of One Young World with support from Virgin Unite, is dedicated to empowering the world’s most courageous and forward-thinking young leaders. This groundbreaking programme seeks to redefine what it means to create lasting change—through systems-thinking, collective action, and shared leadership. It brings together a dynamic network of rising changemakers who are already shaping the future through bold ideas and tangible impact in their communities.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

At its core, The NewNow represents a collective of exceptional young leaders committed to driving transformation across the globe. Each member has a proven track record of delivering real and lasting impact, united by a common goal: to build unstoppable momentum toward a fairer, more sustainable world. With over half of the global population under the age of 30, The NewNow recognizes the immense potential of young people to lead innovation, challenge entrenched systems, and design solutions for generations to come.

The programme amplifies the voices of trusted youth leaders who are unafraid to take bold steps toward global transformation. Through strategic collaboration, shared learning, and mentorship from experienced changemakers, participants gain the tools to challenge existing structures and drive systems-level change. By fostering an environment of learning and exchange, The NewNow equips its members with the knowledge and mindset needed to view global issues through a systems-thinking lens—one that sees interconnectedness, intersectionality, and long-term impact as the keys to real progress.

Applications are now open for the 2026 cohort of NewNow Leaders, and the search is on for ten trailblazing young visionaries from the Global South. These individuals should demonstrate exceptional leadership, a strong understanding of local or global challenges, and a deep commitment to systemic transformation.

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be between 18 and 30 years old.
• Be nationals of countries in the Global South.
• Have led or contributed significantly to impactful initiatives that demonstrate real-world results.
• Show a clear understanding of systemic challenges and the application of systems-thinking approaches.
• Possess a proven record of innovation and sustainable impact.
• Be eager to collaborate within The NewNow community and share success stories through networks and media platforms.

BENEFITS

Selected participants will receive a comprehensive support package designed to strengthen their leadership capacity and amplify their influence. Benefits include a fully funded scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit in Cape Town in 2026, along with lifelong membership in the One Young World Ambassador Community. Leaders will also be featured on One Young World and Virgin Unite media platforms, gaining global visibility and opportunities for public speaking.

Additionally, participants will access the One Young World Global Leadership Programme and Action Accelerator, providing tools to scale their initiatives. Membership in The NewNow Community offers exclusive workshops aimed at enhancing confidence, leadership, and systems-change expertise. Collaborative opportunities among fellows further empower them to co-create innovative solutions and advocate for systemic transformation worldwide.
