The Merck Group offers a total prize pool of €20,000 for the winning team, with €5,000 for the runner-up and €3,000 for third place. Eligibility
- To be eligible for this program, you must be a postgraduate student in the life sciences, pursuing a PhD in fields such as biology, medicine, biotech, bioinformatics, computer science, data science, biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacy, engineering, or related disciplines.
- Postdoctoral students, advanced MBA students, or recent MBA graduates with a background in life sciences and an interest in the pharmaceutical industry are also encouraged to apply.
- However, healthcare professionals are not eligible to participate.

Process
- The Innovation Cup operates through a week-long summer camp, where selected applicants come together to work in a highly stimulating environment.
- As part of a team, you will focus on generating new ideas in areas such as oncology, immuno-oncology, autoimmunity, small molecules drug discovery, protein engineering, and screening, as well as digitalization.
- You will then evaluate these ideas from both technical and business perspectives, ultimately constructing a compelling business plan.
