Applications open for the 2024 Pierre Castel Prize for Green Entreprenuers (Up to €15,000 prize)

Applications are now open for the 2024 Pierre Castel Prize for green Entrepreneurs. The Pierre Castel Fund and its partners Castel El Djazaïr , Brakina , Boissons du Cameroun , Solibra , Star and Bracongo SA , are organizing the 7th edition of the PIERRE CASTEL PRIZE, from March 1 to July 10, 2024 .  6 African countries are concerned by this edition:
Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Eligibility Requirements

  • You are an agricultural entrepreneur;
  • You are between 18 and 45 years old;
  • You have the nationality of one of the countries concerned by this edition and you reside there;
  • Your business exists legally and has been in operation for at least one year;
  • You have a development project including a measurable social, economic and environmental impact on your ecosystem.

Prizes

The 2024 Pierre Castel Prize rewards 36 entrepreneurs (6 per country).

The grants awarded as part of this competition aim to promote the growth of the selected companies and increase their impact within the value chains . These awards also aim to promote the development of skills of entrepreneurs, to facilitate and encourage the sharing of knowledge, and finally, to stimulate the creation of pan-African synergies.

AWARDS

  • 1st winners : €15,000, sponsorship and a coaching program
  • 2nd winners : €10,000, a coaching program
  • Finalists : Access to certified entrepreneurial e-learning training with the Geneva International Trade Center (ITC) and participation in the Young Hopes Prize – For sustainable agriculture and food

  • FROM MARCH 1 TO APRIL 15:  Call for applications: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Madagascar, Democratic Republic of Congo
  • FROM MARCH 10 TO APRIL 15:  Call for applications: Ivory Coast
  • FROM APRIL 16 TO 30:  Examination of applications and selection of 36 entrepreneurs (6 per country)
  • FROM MAY 2 TO 14:  Field visits
  • FROM MAY 21 TO 31:  Auditions of candidates by local juries and selection of 12 winners (2 per country)
  • FROM JUNE 3 TO 14:  Creation of provisional plans for the use of endowment
  • JUNE 21:  Grand Jury
  • JULY 10:  Pan-African awards ceremony in Algiers

IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

  • FROM APRIL 17 TO 18:  Examination of applications and preselections
  • FROM APRIL 22 TO MAY 5:  Field visits
  • MAY 6:  Selection of the 6 finalists
  • MAY 17:  Local jury
  • FROM MAY 27 TO 31:  Creation of provisional plans for the use of endowment
