Available Positions & Requirements for job openings at the National Universities Commission (NUC)

1. Senior Officer (CONTISS 9)

• Responsibilities: Identifying and facilitating innovations and best practices in the Nigerian University System.
• Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or
  • Master’s degree with at least four years of post-qualification experience, or
  • First degree with at least six years of post-qualification experience.
  • Digital skills and computer literacy are required.

2. Trainee/Officer I (CONTISS 8)

• Responsibilities: Collecting, collating, and analyzing data on Nigerian universities.
• Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, or
  • First degree with at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Digital skills and computer literacy are required.

3. Trainee Officer II (CONTISS 7)

• Responsibilities: Collecting and interpreting data, preparing draft memoranda, speeches, and official correspondence.
• Requirements:
  • First degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Digital skills and computer literacy are required.

4. Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 7)

• Responsibilities: Providing secretarial services, including diary management, word processing, and document organization.
• Requirements:
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Studies.
  • At least three years of post-qualification experience.

5. Assistant Cameraman (CONTISS 5)

• Responsibilities: Performing routine photographic duties under supervision, including coverage of official activities.
• Requirements:
  • National Diploma (ND) in Cinematography or Mass Communication.
  • Cognate experience is an advantage.

6. Data Processing Assistant (CONTISS 5)

• Responsibilities: Accurately inputting, updating, and maintaining information in databases or spreadsheets.
• Requirements:
  • National Diploma (ND) in relevant fields.
  • Cognate experience is an advantage.

7. Artisans/Craftsmen (CONTISS 4 or 3)

• Positions Available: Carpenter, Plumber, Electrician, Air-conditioning Mechanic.
• Responsibilities: Performing duties related to fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repairs.
• Requirements:
• • ‘O’ Level Certificate or equivalent.
  • Class II/III Trade Test Certificate in the appropriate trade.
  • Technical training and cognate experience are advantages.

8. Lift Operator (CONTISS 4 or 3)

• Responsibilities: Operating lifts and performing simple maintenance tasks.
• Requirements:
• • First School Leaving Certificate.
  • Technical training and cognate experience are advantages.

9. Motor Driver/Mechanic (CONTISS 4 or 3)

• Responsibilities: Driving assigned vehicles and maintaining records of fuel and lubrication consumption.
• Requirements:
• • ‘O’ Level Certificate or equivalent.
  • Class II/III Trade Test Certificate for Motor Mechanic Work.
  • Valid Class ‘C’ Driving License.
  • Cognate experience is an advantage
