Applications open: TaiwanICDF’s International Higher Education Scholarship Program (Funded)

The TaiwanICDF’s International Higher Education Scholarship Program offers scholarships for higher education and has collaborated with well-known partner universities in Taiwan to develop undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs.

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Be a citizen of a country on the List of Countries Eligible for TaiwanICDF Scholarship and meet any specific criteria set by your country and/or government of citizenship.

2. Not be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) or an overseas compatriot student.

3. Meet the admission requirements of the partner university you have applied to study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship.

4. Be able to fulfill all requirements for a Resident Visa (Code: FS) set by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) set by the Ministry of the Interior of the ROC (Taiwan) government. Please note that the TaiwanICDF reserves the right to revoke a scholarship if an applicant fails to meet the visa requirements.

5. If you accept a TaiwanICDF scholarship, you should not hold any other ROC (Taiwan) government-sponsored scholarship (such as the Taiwan Scholarship) in the same academic year when the TaiwanICDF scholarship is scheduled to begin.

6. If you have previously received a TaiwanICDF scholarship, MOFA’s Taiwan Scholarship, or an MOE scholarship, you must have graduated before July 31, 2023, to be eligible to apply for a 2024 scholarship.

7. Provide the highest-level diploma before July 31, 2024. If you are unable to obtain the certificate by this date, you may apply for the scholarship next year.

8. Have never had a scholarship revoked by any ROC (Taiwan) government agency or related institution, nor have been expelled from any Taiwanese university.

Benefits

Entitlements: Each student will receive a comprehensive scholarship package from the TaiwanICDF during their award period. This includes airfare (round-trip), housing, tuition, credit fees, insurance, textbook costs, and a monthly allowance. Here is a breakdown of the scholarship:

1. Airfare: The TaiwanICDF will arrange your flights to and from Taiwan, ensuring the most direct route. Please note that each airline has its own policies regarding carry-on and check-in luggage, as well as weight limits and pet transportation. It is advisable to check with the airline for specific details before your departure.

2. Housing: All students are required to reside in the student dormitories provided.

3. Tuition fee: The TaiwanICDF will cover the tuition fee as required by your university.

4. Credit fees: The credit fees will be covered based on the number of credits you register for. The TaiwanICDF will ensure that these fees are taken care of according to your university’s requirements.

5. Insurance: During your stay in Taiwan, you will be provided with mandatory student safety insurance set by the Ministry of Education. Additionally, you will also be insured for accidental and necessary medical coverage. The insurance fees will be covered for the entire duration of the program.

6. Book costs: The purchase of textbooks required by your instructors will be subject to the approval of the director of your institute. The TaiwanICDF will support you in covering these costs.

Allowances

(1). Master’s Program: Each student will receive a monthly allowance of NT$18,000 throughout the duration of the program. This allowance is intended to cover food and other miscellaneous living expenses. The amount will be deposited into the student’s local bank account on a monthly basis.

(2). Ph.D. Program: Each student enrolled in the Ph.D. program will receive a monthly allowance of NT$20,000. This allowance is provided to cover food and miscellaneous living expenses during the program. The amount will be deposited into the student’s local bank account every month.

Application Procedure:

To apply for the Taiwan ICDF Scholarship program, please follow these steps:

1. Complete the online application before March 15, 2024.
2. Submit all the required admission documents to the TaiwanICDF scholarship partner universities before the admissions deadline.
3. Submit the necessary documents to the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy or Representative Office in your country.
4. After a thorough review, a list of recommended applicants will be compiled by the TaiwanICDF.
5. Successful applicants will be notified by June 10, 2024.

University Application: In addition to the TaiwanICDF application, candidates must also apply separately to their chosen universities and fulfill their specific requirements.
