Applications open for the Africa Impact Fundraising Grant Program
The Africa Impact Fundraising Grant PROGRAM (AIFG) is a fresh program launched by the New Africa Fund to strengthen African nonprofits, grassroots groups, and social ventures by giving them the tools and knowledge they need to raise funds more effectively.
Here’s how it works:
Participants first complete an online training course that teaches practical skills for running successful small-donor fundraising campaigns. They immediately apply what they’ve learned in a real-world 30-day fundraising sprint, during which the program can match the money they raise, up to a maximum of US$5,000 per organization.
The strongest performers will then earn an all-expenses-paid trip to the New Africa Fund’s training hub in Kigali, Rwanda, for a focused one-week in-person bootcamp. This deep-dive covers essential topics such as financial management, marketing and communications, grant writing, donor research, relationship-building and retention, individual giving campaigns, and locally relevant fundraising tactics.
Who can apply? Any legally registered organization based in one of the 55 African Union member countries.
Key benefits of joining the AIFG program:
- Up to 70 organizations will get comprehensive online training on individual donor fundraising at no cost.
- Every selected participant can compete in the 30-day challenge with up to US$5,000 in matching funds available.
- All participating organizations receive 12 months of free fiscal sponsorship from the New Africa Fund (with the option to extend).
- The top 10 performers will attend the exclusive week-long intensive workshop in Kigali.
- Further performance-based funding and support opportunities will open up as the program continues.

- Proof of your organization’s legal registration
- Your most recent external audit report
- If an external audit is not available: financial statements covering the last five months for all organizational accounts
