Applications are currently being accepted for the Summer Laboratory Training Programme at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) for the year 2024. The CNIO, located in Madrid, Spain, provides research training opportunities to students from all over the world who are interested in pursuing a career in Biomedicine and Life Sciences.   • To be eligible for this programme, applicants must have completed at least 2/3 of the required credit points for a Life Sciences or Biomedicine-related undergraduate degree in any country.
  • It is also necessary to maintain undergraduate student status throughout the entire duration of the summer programme, which runs from June 24th to August 16th, 2024. Additionally, applicants must have a strong academic record with a Grade Point Average (GPA) above 0.75, possess a good command of the English language, and be available to attend the training programme during the specified dates.
  • Failure to meet any of these requirements will result in ineligibility for the programme.

Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) Summer Laboratory Training Programme Programme Details

  • The training program is scheduled to take place from June 24th to August 16th, lasting for a total of 8 weeks. During this time, participants will be expected to dedicate themselves full-time, committing 37.5 hours per week to the program.
  • It is mandatory for students to actively engage in all scheduled activities.
  • Throughout the program, each student will be assigned to a group, section, unit leader, or a member of the research group who will provide supervision. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to attend weekly seminars conducted by faculty members and researchers from the CNIO. At the conclusion of the program, students will be required to present their research findings during a special session.
  • By participating in this program, students are acknowledging their agreement to abide by all internal regulations and rules set forth by the CNIO, as well as those of their assigned group or unit and Research Program.
  • Students must also adhere to the timetable and practical program outlined by their supervisor.

1. Two letters of recommendation.
2. Copy of an official Transcript of Records, Academic Transcript, or Certification, indicating the number of credits completed.
