The application process has commenced for the 2025 Internship Program offered by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of the Government of Japan. This initiative is designed to provide individuals from developing nations with a valuable opportunity to gain insights into international business strategies within Japanese enterprises and to develop skills and knowledge from these companies. Participants will receive training to become global leaders, equipped to operate in Japan, their home countries, and globally in the future.
This Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Government of Japan Internship Program initiative seeks to enhance the environment for highly skilled foreign professionals in Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises by facilitating internships, bolstering the framework for companies to pursue international expansion, and fostering their development.
Furthermore, for foreign professionals interested in employment with Japanese firms, the program offers a glimpse into the work environment in Japan through internship participation. Additionally, this year, the program will aid in actual employment and retention by providing post-internship employment matching support and Japanese language education for interns.

You must meet all of the following requirements

Main Responsibilities of interns |
- -Establish an internship plan (roles and goals of the company person in charge, interns, etc.) after consultation with the company person in charge
- -Participate in various training sessions and presentation of results
- -Thorough implementation of safety and health management that can be achieved by oneself, such as communicating, reporting, and consulting to the secretariat and companies
- -Submit various documents such as recommendation letter, notification, report, etc. before the start of the internship, during and after the end of the internship
- -Act consciously as a participant in projects using public funds of the Japanese government
