Intel AI Programme for African Deep-Tech Startups and Ecosystem Stakeholders in Nigeria – Call for Applications

We are pleased to extend an invitation for you to apply to the upcoming Intel AI Programme for African DeepTech Startups Ecosystem Stakeholders in Nigeria. This program aims to engage and empower various stakeholders, including deep tech hubs, AI startups, and AI developers, by providing them with the necessary resources and skills to address challenges and explore opportunities in the DeepTech sector in Africa, with a specific focus on Nigeria.

As part of the program, there will be a panel discussion on the “Challenges and Opportunities of DeepTech in Africa/Nigeria – Socio-Economic and Policy Implications,” as well as an “AI Policy Roundtable.” These sessions will feature government officials and policymakers from institutions such as the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the International Labour Organization (ILO). The discussions will revolve around the Intel Digital Readiness Program, particularly in the field of AI, and the policy implications for the development of DeepTech in Nigeria and Africa.

Date:The program will take place from the 5th to the 7th of March, 2024,
Venue:at Fraser Suites in Abuja.
Time: The sessions will be held from 09:30 to 13:00 WAT
Format: will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing for both physical and virtual attendance via Zoom.

During the workshop, various sessions will be conducted, including the panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities of DeepTech, the AI Policy Roundtable, an introduction to Intel and key findings from two Intel DeepTech Reports, sharing lessons on supporting DeepTech startups, an introduction to the Intel Liftoff for Startups Program, building a community program for startups, and an open exchange on the impact of startup community programs. Additionally, there will be a session on the Intel OneAPI initiative and an introduction to AI Tools at Intel, as well as an introduction to the Intel Developer Cloud.

Kindly be informed that participants who attend all sessions of the programme (whether physical or virtual) will be eligible to receive certificates.
