ICANN80 Policy Forum Fellowship Program 2024 (Funded to Rwanda) now open

The ICANN Fellowship Program aims to enhance the inclusivity of the multistakeholder model by creating chances for individuals from marginalized and underrepresented communities to engage in the ICANN community.

Fellows get the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the ICANN community, are paired with a mentor, and receive training in various areas of expertise and in skill development before, during, and after each of the ICANN Public Meetings. Additionally, travel support is offered to assist fellows in attending the meeting.

Eligibility

Welcome, candidates from all regions and sectors, to the amazing ICANN Fellowship Program! To be part of this incredible program, you must:

1. Be at least 21 years old and ready to embark on an exciting journey.

2. Have a genuine interest in or already be involved in the different aspects of ICANN’s work, such as policy building, the operation of the Domain Name System, and the security and stability of the global Internet.

3. Complete all of the mandatory ICANN Learn course(s). You can find more information about it here.

4. Please note that if you are already associated with other ICANN supported travel programs at the time of selection, you won’t be eligible for the Fellowship Program.

If you are applying for the Policy Forum, you must have successfully completed an ICANN Fellowship in the past.

Also, keep in mind that if you have already received two fellowships, you can still apply for a third one. However, you will need to demonstrate your involvement and engagement in one of the ICANN communities.

 

Benefits

As a fellow, ICANN org will cover the cost of your economy airfare, booking the lowest fare available at the time of your travel. You will receive a separate email from ICANN Travel Support titled “Welcome Email” with all the details.

ICANN org will also take care of booking and paying for a standard room (king or queen) for you. Don’t worry, you’ll have the room all to yourself!

 

Requirements

 

As a fellowship recipient, we expect you to:

1. Engage in the ICANN Fellowship Program Mentoring processes. It’s a great opportunity to learn and grow!

2. Complete any additional required ICANN Learn courses. We want you to have all the knowledge you need.

3. Attend the ICANN Public Meeting and all the required activities, including the fantastic ICANN Fellowship sessions. It’s a chance to connect with fellow participants and learn from experts.

4. Network and interact with program alumni and community members. Building connections is key!

5. After the meeting, please take the time to complete the post-meeting survey. Your feedback is valuable to us.
