Entries open for the United Nations Global Compact Target Gender Equality Accelerator Program

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 United Nations Global Compact Target Gender Equality Accelerator Program. This nine-month program is designed for companies involved in the United Nations Global Compact who are interested in establishing and achieving ambitious goals for women’s representation, equal pay, and leadership in the business sector.

By participating in the Target Gender Equality Accelerator, companies will have the opportunity to enhance the implementation of the Women’s Empowerment Principles and contribute more effectively to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through performance analysis, workshops, peer learning, and dialogues at various levels.

Eligibility: United Nations Global Compact Target Gender Equality Accelerator Program

To be eligible for the Target Gender Equality Accelerator, companies must be members of the UN Global Compact or willing to join, and must meet the following criteria:

– Committed to learning about corporate target setting and taking actions to promote gender equality in the workplace
– Willing to designate two representatives to participate in program activities and events, as well as an executive-level “ambassador” to stay informed about program updates, offer support, and engage in high-level events
– Currently involved with a Global Compact Local Network or willing to join if necessary

Companies located in specific countries and participating in the UN Global Compact can register for the Target Gender Equality Accelerator through their Global Compact Local Network.

Francophone Africa Track: United Nations Global Compact Target Gender Equality Accelerator Program

There is a special track for Francophone Africa, which will conduct the program in French for companies from Francophone Africa. If your company is located in a Francophone African country not listed above, please consider applying for this option.

Global track: United Nations Global Compact Target Gender Equality Accelerator Program

The global track, conducted in English, will provide the same educational content as the in-country track, delivered through a combination of live and on-demand sessions. This global track will be accessible in countries where an in-country program is not offered. Limited space is available.

Timeline: United Nations Global Compact Target Gender Equality Accelerator Program

– May 31, 2024: Registration deadline may differ by country. Contact your Local Network for information on registering after May 31.
– Program commences: June 2024 (Refer to your Global Compact Local Network for specific dates)
– Program concludes: March 2025
