Fellowship Opportunities

Entries open for the The Kari Howard Fund for Narrative Journalism

Applications are now open for the The Kari Howard Fund for Narrative Journalism. Kari Howard cherished narratives that made readers feel as if they had just encountered a new companion. Writers who were privileged to collaborate with her as their editor found themselves inspired to blend the rhythm of daily life with the fervor of remarkable love, crafting stories that shed light on the most pressing issues of the time.

Kari’s family and friends, along with the International Women’s Media Foundation, are proud to provide grants to support the narrative journalism she advocated for.

The grants will be capped at $5,000. Eligible applicants may include print journalists or print journalists who are leading a multimedia team. Projects that are reported and published in English, regardless of location, qualify. All reporting and publishing activities must be finalized within six months following the grant award.
