Entries open for the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung PDWA Summer School Master’s Scholarship

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Konrad Adenauer Stiftung PDWA Summer School Master’s Scholarship. The main objective of this application process is to identify participants for the KAS Summer School 2024 and ultimately select the recipients of the KAS PDWA Master’s Scholarship 2024 upon completion of the program. The online KAS Summer School is scheduled for July 2024. Following the application review, KAS PDWA will notify shortlisted candidates via email between May and June, providing them with specific dates and further instructions for the next steps.

Goal of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung PDWA Summer School Master’s Scholarship

  • Through this scholarship initiative, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), in collaboration with the Regional Program for Political Dialogue in West Africa (PDWA), aims to assist students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance along with notable social or political dedication.
  • The program is designed to equip these individuals for future roles in politics, economics, research, media, and other related fields.

Requirements: General admission criteria: Konrad Adenauer Stiftung PDWA Summer School Master’s Scholarship

1. Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study such as political science, economics, law, social sciences, journalism, or any other field of your choice from one of the following countries in the subregion: Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
2. Scholarships are available for students at both public and private universities. Please note that tuition fees are subject to the availability of KAS PDWA funds.
3. Possess above-average academic achievements.
4. Demonstrate leadership qualities.
5. Show a strong interest in politics and a personal commitment to political, social, or other issues through active participation in political parties or associations, high school or academic institutions, religious or social organizations.
6. Uphold the ideals promoted by KAS.

Exclusion criteria: Konrad Adenauer Stiftung PDWA Summer School Master’s Scholarship

1. Incomplete applications or applications submitted after 24 March 2024 will not be considered.
2. This scholarship does not support undergraduate or postgraduate study (bachelor or doctoral degrees).
3. The age limit is 35 years.
4. Applications for study outside the countries covered by the PDWA will not be accepted.
5. Applicants who have been rejected twice in this process are not eligible to reapply.

1. Complete the online application form (Google Form) provided above. Ensure all fields are duly filled.
2. Attach a single PDF file containing the following documents:
a. A comprehensive and complete Curriculum Vitae.
b. A copy of your most recent diploma or transcript, including your bachelor’s degree.
c. Proof of social or political involvement (e.g., a letter of recommendation).
d. A motivation letter addressed to the KAS Resident Representative.

Please note that originals and additional documents, including certified copies of diplomas, may be required as needed.

Selection Criteria: Konrad Adenauer Stiftung PDWA Summer School Master’s Scholarship

  • The selection for the class of 2024 scholarship holders of our PDWA scholarship program will be based on the quality of applications and the competence of candidates.
  • There is no national quota in place. Successful candidates will be contacted by KAS PDWA to proceed with the selection process.
  • The selection process may span over several months.
