Applications are now officially open for the 2026/2028 Erasmus Mundus Master’s Scholarship in Journalism, Media and Globalisation. This prestigious international programme is designed for students who want to engage deeply with the evolving landscape of journalism and the global forces shaping media today. The Mundus Journalism master’s degree blends academic training with practical inquiry, offering a curriculum that sharpens analytical thinking, strengthens critical perspectives, and encourages students to examine journalism through a globalised lens.

Since its launch in 2005, the Mundus Journalism programme has grown into a vibrant global community, connecting emerging journalists, researchers, and media professionals from different cultures and national backgrounds. Participants benefit not only from world-class academic instruction but also from a powerful international network that often extends far beyond graduation.

About Erasmus Mundus

Erasmus Mundus is a flagship international academic initiative of the European Union, created to enhance global mobility, research collaboration, and cross-cultural education. Through its joint master’s programmes, Erasmus Mundus brings together multiple universities across different countries to deliver high-quality, integrated degrees. Students accepted into Erasmus Mundus programmes study in at least two countries, gaining both academic rigor and international exposure.

Requirements

To qualify for admission into the Mundus Journalism programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Hold a three-year bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic field.
• Provide official proof of English language proficiency (required for non-native speakers).
• Demonstrate a minimum of three months of journalistic experience.

Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants receive a generous scholarship package that includes:

• A full tuition waiver covering the entire duration of the programme.
• A monthly allowance of €1400 to support living expenses, travel, visas, and installation costs.
• Funding for up to 24 months, beginning in September of the programme’s first academic year.

Erasmus+ Stipends

All enrolled Mundus Journalism students are also eligible to apply for an Erasmus+ stipend. Historically, every qualified student has received this additional support. Because the Erasmus+ grant is structured to fund mobility in the second year of studies, the stipend will apply during the specialisation phase at the partner university. Detailed guidance, documentation support, and application assistance will be provided by the Erasmus+ Office at Aarhus University once the programme begins.
