Applications are officially open for the 2026 Code4FoodSecurity Fellowship program, a transformative, fully-funded 5-month immersive program powered by Blossom Academy in strategic partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). This groundbreaking initiative will select and train 70 talented individuals—prioritizing women, persons with disabilities, and underrepresented groups—in the practical application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to revolutionize food systems and agricultural innovation across Africa.
By combining cutting-edge technical training with real-world, impact-driven projects, the fellowship equips participants with future-ready skills while directly contributing to food security, climate-resilient agriculture, and sustainable development on the continent.

About Code4FoodSecurity
Code4FoodSecurity is an innovative pan-African initiative launched through the collaboration between Blossom Academy and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). The program harnesses the power of AI, machine learning, and data science to address critical issues in food security, agricultural productivity, supply-chain efficiency, and climate adaptation.
By training a diverse cohort of fellows to develop and deploy practical tech solutions, Code4FoodSecurity aims to create measurable, on-the-ground impact while building a pipeline of skilled professionals who can lead Africa’s agritech revolution. The fellowship places special emphasis on gender equity and disability inclusion to ensure that innovation benefits everyone

Program Structure & Format
- Duration: 5 months (January – May 2026)
- Learning Mode: Hybrid
- Virtual live classes: Monday to Wednesday
- In-person practical sessions and workshops: Thursdays (held in Accra)
- Participants will work on live WFP-supported projects, receive mentorship from global AI experts, and graduate with a portfolio of deployable solutions
Who Should Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)
- Age between 18 and 35 years
- Must be resident in Accra, Ghana, and able to attend weekly in-person sessions
- Possession of a functional laptop and reliable internet access
- Full availability and commitment to the entire program schedule
- Passion for technology, agriculture, food security, or sustainable development (no prior coding experience required—beginners are welcome)
