Entries open for the AUDA-NEPAD Africa Skills Revolution Competition
The 2024 AUDA-NEPAD Africa Skills Revolution Competition is now accepting applications. This initiative aims to highlight the accomplishments and success narratives of young Africans who have utilized their Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to forge meaningful careers and contribute to socio-economic advancement throughout the African continent.
Are you a young African with a remarkable career path or story to tell? We invite all skilled and talented African youth to present their achievements and expertise in TVET.
By sharing your experiences and successes, you can motivate other young Africans to discover the extensive opportunities available within TVET and play a role in the continent’s economic development. Join us in this exciting initiative to demonstrate the significance of TVET and emphasize the potential of Africa’s youth as the cornerstone of a thriving and dynamic future.
Requirements – AUDA-NEPAD Africa Skills Revolution Competition
The Competition targets TVET graduates aged 16 to 35 who possess an inspiring career narrative to share. The Africa Skills Revolution Competition provides a platform to celebrate the positive influence that TVET has had on the lives of African youth and to encourage others to follow similar paths. Whether in construction, healthcare, engineering, or other sectors, this is an opportunity for them to shine. By sharing their stories, they will help reshape perceptions about TVET and illustrate the immense potential of Africa’s youth.
Winners will be awarded USD 1,500, which can be utilized to enhance skills, further career development, or support entrepreneurial initiatives. In your submission, please outline your intended use of the prize money and how it will assist you in reaching your aspirations, business objectives, or career milestones. Furthermore, select winners may have the chance to participate in WorldSkills Africa 2025, where they can exhibit their career advancements and illustrate how this prize has contributed to their professional development. Additionally, inspiring narratives from participants, regardless of whether they are ultimate winners, may be highlighted on the ASPYEE platforms, as well as on the social media channels of AUDA-NEPAD and Humana People to People, and included in the final report of the Africa Skills Revolution. Share your experiences to motivate peers, parents, policymakers, and the wider community. Together, we can reshape perceptions of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and ignite a transformative movement.
Judging Criteria – AUDA-NEPAD Africa Skills Revolution Competition
Passion & Inspiration: Evidence of enthusiasm for their projects and skills, the ability to motivate others, and how TVET has empowered their journey.
Aspirations and Ambitions: A clear expression of future vocational objectives and ambitions, along with the identification of necessary support to achieve them.
Potential for Impact: Demonstrated influence on local, national, or continental economic development, enhancement of community living standards, promotion of social inclusion, and improvement of livelihoods.
Innovation: Creative application of vocational skills to tackle challenges or introduce novel solutions.

Online Application Submission: All applications must be submitted in English, Portuguese, or French via the provided online form. The submission deadline is September 26th, 23:59 (GMT+3).
Shortlist Announcement: Candidates who are shortlisted will be notified via email on October 4th. These candidates are required to submit a 2-minute video that showcases their skills and success stories by October 10th, 23:59 (GMT+3).
Final Winners Announcement:
- Final winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony that will take place at Africa Skills Week in Accra, Ghana, on October 14th.
