Entries open for Deloitte One Young World Scholarship for young leaders (Funded to Canada)

Deloitte is thrilled to continue its partnership with One Young World and is excited to announce the Deloitte One Young World Scholarship 2024. This scholarship will provide an incredible opportunity for five exceptional young leaders to attend the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada from 18th to 21st September 2024.

The aim of this scholarship is to support young leaders who are dedicated to addressing pressing challenges in their communities, countries, or the world. These challenges can include combating climate change and its effects, as well as improving education, skills, and access to opportunities.

Eligibility

• To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30.
• While individuals from all countries can apply, their projects must be based in locations where Deloitte has a presence.
• It is important for applicants to demonstrate a strong commitment to creating positive change,
• possess leadership qualities,
• have a deep understanding of local and/or global issues.
• Additionally, they should have a track record of generating impactful and innovative solutions related to climate and environmental challenges or education and skills-based challenges.

Benefits

• Scholars selected for this program will receive a range of benefits, including access to the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal.
• Travel expenses, including economy class flights to and from Montreal, will be covered.
• Accommodation in a private room, catering (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and ground transportation between Summit venues will also be provided.
• Furthermore, scholars will have the opportunity to participate in Deloitte-hosted sessions and will be assigned a Deloitte “buddy” for guidance and support.

The scholarship is looking for candidates who have shown dedication to:

1. Developing, expanding, or supporting initiatives that decrease carbon emissions.
2. Mitigating the adverse effects of climate change through technology, activism, community programs, policies, nature-based solutions, or similar endeavors.
3. Empowering individuals within their communities or globally to take action against climate change.
4. Planning and strategizing to minimize the impact of climate change-related natural disasters and enhance resilience.
Or:
5. Enhancing access to education, skills, or employment opportunities for those who may be marginalized by the rapidly evolving global economy. This includes women, girls, and disadvantaged youth, for instance.
6. Creating opportunities for skills development or lifelong learning to help people prepare for the future workforce, particularly in areas with talent shortages.
7. Promoting entrepreneurship, new forms of employment, or providing avenues for individuals to overcome traditional barriers to employment.
