Call for Applications: Young Innovative Builders Initiative Programme for young Nigerians

The Young Innovative Builders Initiative program aims to showcase and reward the creative projects developed by young Nigerians that align with the Federal Ministry of Communications and Information’s goal of advancing the digital economy.


  • In each state and the FCT, the top 48 projects will be awarded laptops,
  • The next best 40 projects will receive tablets.


  • To be eligible for this program, you must be a student enrolled in a Nigerian Tertiary Institution pursuing your first degree.
  • Additionally, you should have designed, developed, built, or deployed an innovative or tech-enabled project that utilizes digital technology.
  • It is also important that you remain a student for at least 3 months after the competition’s end date, which is December 22nd, 2023.
  • Furthermore, applicants must have completed an Industrial training program, and their projects should address real-world problems in society.


  • The selection process will involve a diverse selection committee that will review the applications.
  • The committee will consider factors such as the novelty and originality of the project, its impact and relevance to real-world problems, its feasibility and scalability, as well as the quality of presentation and documentation.


  • If you are interested in applying, the application period will open on November 22, 2023, and close on December 6, 2023.
  • You must submit your application through the designated application form on the official website. The applications will be reviewed by a diverse selection committee, including representatives from academia, industry experts, the Ministry, and other stakeholders.
  • The final list of successful applications will be published through official channels on or before December 22, 2023.
