The FMN Prize for Innovation in the food and agro allied businesses initiative was created to inspire fresh ideas and advancements in the food and agro-allied sector in Nigeria and beyond, with a focus on how these can contribute to a sustainable food system in Nigeria. This years theme is: Driving Food Self-Sufficiency in Nigeria Through Precision Agriculture
In its 3rd season, the FMN – PFI will specifically seek out innovators within the food and agro-allied sector who are actively and creatively working towards achieving food self-sufficiency in Nigeria.
The PFI management team, on behalf of the Group, will carefully evaluate and test the processes employed by these individuals and organizations, and provide the winning ideas/content with the necessary resources and support to enhance their business sustainability in a progressive manner.
If you are a registered food or agro-allied business in Nigeria, or a student with a keen interest in the food and agro-allied industry, then you should definitely participate in the second edition of FMN’s Prize for Innovation.
This year’s edition aims to discover innovative approaches to developing and increasing the utilization of local materials in the food industry, in order to meet the growing demands of the local market.

Eligibility
- To be eligible for this opportunity, your business must fall under the category of Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) that are registered in Nigeria and operate in the agro-processing and food production space.
- We are looking for big ideas and innovative solutions that focus on the use of precision agriculture to enhance food production in Nigeria’s food and agro-allied sector.
- Your idea should not only have a solid proof-of-concept but also serve a social or commercial purpose.
- Additionally, it should come with a clear roadmap to scale its impact.

This opportunity is open to Nigerian students at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. - We are looking for your big idea and innovative solution that focuses on the use of precision agriculture to enhance food production in Nigeria’s food and agro-allied sector.
