If your venture is innovative and has a positive impact on communities and/or the planet, then seize the opportunity to become one of the 100 startuppers of the year 2024! Registration is open from April 30 to June 18!

The Startupper of the year Challenge by TotalEnergies is making a comeback in 32 African countries with a special edition to celebrate the Company’s 100th anniversary!

The primary objective of this 4th edition is to support and inspire young African entrepreneurs to innovate and bring their projects to life in their respective countries.

If you own a startup that is less than 3 years old or if you are a trailblazer with a business idea to develop, this challenge is tailor-made for you!

All individuals who hold business creation projects or own startups that are under 3 years old, and have a positive impact on their communities and/or the planet, are eligible to participate!

The challenge is open to young entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 35. The call for projects is open from April 30 to June 18!

• North Africa: Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia
• West Africa: Ivory Coast, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo
• Central Africa: Gabon, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea
• East Africa & Indian Ocean: Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Mauritius, Madagascar, Mayotte, La Réunion
• Southern Africa: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Angola, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa

Requirements: Startupper of the year Challenge

1. To be eligible, You must be between 18 and 35 years old (born between May 1, 1988 and April 30, 2006)
2. You need to be a citizen of the country in which you are submitting your application.
3. Additionally, you must meet one of the following criteria: either have a startup that is less than 3 years old and registered in the application country no earlier than April 30, 2020,
4. or possess a business idea that can be further developed within a few months after the challenge.

Categories: Startupper of the year Challenge

• Become one of the 100 Startuppers of the year by TotalEnergies, rewarded among one of our category.
  1 Winner per category will be rewarded in each participating country
  4 additional Winners will be selected by an international jury in the Power’Up category
• 1. Category 1: Innov Up – In order to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs, they must either have a startup that is less than three years old or present a well-developed business concept.
• 2. Category 2: Cycle Up – To acknowledge startup or business ideas that embody the concept of circular economy.
• 3. Category 3: Power Up – To honor startups or business ideas that strive to advance, generate, manufacture, or utilize sustainable and cost-effective energy sources.

Evaluation Criteria: Startupper of the year Challenge

These goals serve as a comprehensive framework for addressing global challenges such as poverty, environmental protection, peace, and prosperity by 2030.
