Apply for batch B of the YEIDEP Grant and funding
The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD), has reopened the application portal for Batch B of the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP Grant and funding) — a major national initiative designed to empower Nigerian youths through access to funding, entrepreneurship training, and mentorship opportunities. The reopening of the portal marks the continuation of the government’s broader strategy to harness youth potential as a catalyst for innovation, national unity, and sustainable development.
The YEIDEP was established as a proactive response to rising youth unemployment, economic inequality, and social vulnerability across the country. Recognizing that many young Nigerians possess entrepreneurial potential but lack the resources and guidance to transform their ideas into thriving businesses, the programme was launched to bridge that gap. It combines economic empowerment with counter-radicalization objectives, ensuring that young people are meaningfully engaged, self-reliant, and shielded from the lure of crime, extremism, and social unrest.
The programme provides non-repayable grants ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000 to help beneficiaries start, grow, or scale their micro and small-scale enterprises. Its key goals include reducing poverty, creating employment, fostering innovation, and promoting inclusive economic growth through enterprise creation. In addition, YEIDEP supports the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across strategic sectors such as agriculture, technology, fashion, renewable energy, entertainment, sports, and ICT — areas with high potential for job creation and sustainable value chains.
According to the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, YEIDEP is a cornerstone of Nigeria’s National Youth Empowerment Framework, aimed at equipping young citizens with the financial tools, entrepreneurial skills, and leadership mindset needed to contribute productively to the nation’s economy. The programme’s long-term target is to empower over one million young Nigerians by 2030, strengthen the MSME ecosystem, and reduce youth dependency on government employment by promoting self-sufficiency.
Beyond financial assistance, successful participants receive business development training, mentorship, and market linkage opportunities to enhance the sustainability of their ventures. The ministry has also integrated a post-funding mentorship and enterprise development component, allowing beneficiaries to access continuous guidance from experienced business leaders and sector experts.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens between 18 and 35 years old, possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN), and either maintain or open a business account with one of YEIDEP’s partner banks — Lotus Bank, Keystone Bank, or Fidelity Bank.
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply through the official YEIDEP website at www.yeidep.gov.ng and visit any of the designated partner banks with their membership code to complete their account setup and verification. The Federal Ministry of Youth Development reiterates that YEIDEP represents a vital platform for Nigerian youths to unlock their potential, build sustainable livelihoods, and drive the nation’s socio-economic transformation from the grassroots.
