Applications open for the WACCBIP DELTAS II Graduate Internship Programme

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024/2025 WACCBIP DELTAS II Graduate Internship Programme. This programme provides an opportunity for recent graduates to work in an environment that fosters research leadership and development.

The West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), as a Centre of Excellence for biomedical research, collaborates with international partners to support various research activities. The DELTAS II graduate internship programme is made possible through the support of the Science for Africa Foundation (SFA), which receives funding from Wellcome and UK FCDO.

Eligibility for the WACCBIP DELTAS II Graduate Internship Programme

1. To be eligible for this internship programme, applicants must have completed their undergraduate studies by July/August 2024 and be registered for National Service.
2. Additionally, applicants should have a major in any of the following fields: Biological Sciences, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, English Communication, or Linguistics. Candidates should also possess a strong work ethic, high motivation, and a keen interest in promoting scientific research.

Benefits of the WACCBIP DELTAS II Graduate Internship Programme

1. The successful Graduate Intern will have the opportunity to assist in research activities at WACCBIP,
2. contribute to training programmes,
3. participate in research conferences and workshops,
4. Fulfill any other responsibilities assigned by the Director or immediate supervisor.
5. A monthly stipend will be provided to the Graduate Intern as a top-up to their National Service allowance.
