Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Engineering Fellowship Programme. The Polish National Commission for UNESCO and the UNESCO Chair for Science, Technology, and Engineering at the AGH University of Krakow (Poland) are offering thirty (30) fellowships to developing Member States. The aim of this program is to enhance international understanding and friendship among nations and peoples, as well as promote human resource capacities in developing countries.

Duration of the UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Engineering Fellowship Programme

Selected fellows will have the opportunity to conduct individual research in the field of Science, Technology, and Engineering for a period of 6 months, starting from October 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
The fellowship will take place at the AGH University of Krakow, UNESCO AGH Chair, located at A. Mickiewicza Ave 30, PL 30-059 Krakow, Poland.

Benefits of the UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Engineering Fellowship Programme

The benefits of the fellowship include free tuition and access to university facilities in accordance with local regulations.
Additionally, BSc degree students will receive a monthly allowance of 1800 PLN, while MSc degree students will receive 2200 PLN (1 USD is approximately equal to 4 PLN).
It is important to note that all living expenses and accommodation in Poland are the responsibility of the fellow, and the allowance provided is intended to cover these costs.
Upon arrival in Poland, a one-time special allowance of 1800 PLN for BSc degree students or 2200 PLN for MSc degree students will be provided.
This allowance can be used for various activities during the 6-month stay, including a mandatory medical check-up, cultural visits, conferences, workshops, and seminars related to the fellow’s studies.

Facilities provided by UNESCO

UNESCO provides the following facilities for fellowship beneficiaries:
– International travel expenses (by the most direct, economical route) to and from Poland will be covered by UNESCO.
– Health insurance will be provided for fellowship beneficiaries who are declared medically fit. UNESCO will subscribe to a health insurance policy on behalf of awarded fellows and cover the cost incurred.
– A one-time special pocket allowance of US$120 will be given to each beneficiary.
