Applications open for the Swedish Institute Impact Pioneers’24: Enabling Impact Entrepreneurship Program (Funded to Sweden)

The Swedish Institute Impact Pioneers’24: Enabling Impact Entrepreneurship Program is a leadership initiative that invites you to engage in knowledge sharing with a global network of peers and learn directly from Sweden’s top impact entrepreneurship leaders. The program combines online modules with a week-long summit in Stockholm.

Impact Pioneers’24 is designed to empower leaders and facilitators in organizations and networks dedicated to fostering local impact entrepreneurship. By facilitating the exchange of experiences, perspectives, and tools, the program aims to enhance participants’ skill sets. Networking with an international cohort and the Swedish impact entrepreneurship ecosystem is a crucial aspect of the program, with the goal of fostering future collaborations for the benefit of impact startups and scaleups.

Participants in Impact Pioneers have the opportunity to:

1. Learn from a diverse community of peers on a global scale.
2. Gain insights from the forefront of impact entrepreneurship and innovation.
3. Experience the impact entrepreneurship community in Stockholm firsthand.
4. Establish lasting connections with Swedish foreign missions and impact entrepreneurs seeking to expand their global reach.

Eligibility: Swedish Institute Impact Pioneers’24: Enabling Impact Entrepreneurship Program

The program is open to leaders and practitioners in the entrepreneurship ecosystem who are involved in organizations supporting sustainable and green businesses.

More specifically, we are seeking applicants to work in the following roles:

1. Founders and managers of startup hubs, accelerators, and incubators.
2. Founders and managers of tech and innovation hubs.
3. Managers of university accelerators and incubators.
4. Public sector employees involved in supporting impact entrepreneurship.

The application is open to individuals who are citizens and residents of one of the 22 programme countries listed below:

AFRICA: Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, Zambia
ASIA: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam
EUROPE: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Sweden, Ukraine*

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a citizen and resident of one of the 22 programme countries.
2. Work in an organization or business that systematically nurtures and supports entrepreneurs.
3. Have the authority to develop new international partnerships for your organization/business.
4. Possess a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English.
5. Be willing to actively participate, provide support, and share your experience and knowledge with other participants.
6. Have identified opportunities and challenges that can be addressed during the programme to enhance your organization’s contribution to the local entrepreneurship ecosystem.

In addition, the applicant’s home organization/business must meet the following requirements:

1. Be locally owned and based in one of the programme countries.
2. Be involved in hosting/coaching entrepreneurs with business ideas related to sustainability and green transition.
3. Operate with a focus on contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Commitment and expectations
The Impact Pioneers program is set to take place over an eight-week period, starting from late August and ending in October 2024. A detailed schedule and timeline will be shared with accepted participants.

Participants are expected to dedicate approximately two hours per week to online activities, including engaging in sharing sessions and developing ideas for a collaborative project. Additionally, participants should be available to attend a one-week summit in Stockholm in October.

Participation in Impact Pioneers is free of charge, with the Swedish Institute covering costs related to:

– Learning program
– Flights to and from Sweden for the onsite visit in Stockholm
– Accommodation, meals, transportation, and insurance during the stay in Sweden

Timeline: Swedish Institute Impact Pioneers’24: Enabling Impact Entrepreneurship Program

– Late August/early September: Program kick-off and weekly online activities/sessions
– 21-25 October (excluding travel days): One-week onsite experience in Stockholm, Sweden
– Early November: Conclusion of weekly online activities/sessions (collaboration/interaction to continue through other means)
