Applications open for the Liu Shiming Artist Grants
The Liu Shiming Artist Grants are designed to assist visual artists in the initial decade of their careers, facilitating the creation or completion of new projects that investigate the relationship between traditional cultural or historical influences and modern artistic practices. Annually, up to five artists will be chosen to receive a grant of $5,000.
Eligibility – Liu Shiming Artist Grants
- Visual artists with a minimum of two years of experience (but not exceeding ten years) are encouraged to apply for a grant to support either a current or new project.
- The final recipients will be selected by a prestigious panel that includes the Foundation’s Curatorial Director, a renowned artist, and distinguished representatives from various sectors of the art community.
- Artists from any nation are welcome to apply; however, all applications and supporting documents must be submitted in English.
- To qualify for consideration, applicants must have either obtained a degree in studio arts between 2015 and 2023 or have had their first exhibition at a gallery or juried art show during the same period.

- Successful candidates will receive notification via email by December 2, 2025.
- Grants will be distributed in two installments: $3,000 by January 15, 2026, and the remaining $2,000 upon the completion of the proposed project.
