Applications open for the African Food Changemakers BRACE Capacity Development Program

Applications for the 2024 African Food Changemakers BRACE Capacity Development Program are now available. This program is designed to support agripreneurs in the agribusiness sector by increasing their awareness of the impact of climate change on their businesses and helping them develop strategies to adapt and mitigate these effects through the adoption of climate-smart practices and accessing climate financing opportunities. BRACE offers a unique learning experience that includes training, peer learning, interactive sessions, and practical applications.

Eligibility Criteria: African Food Changemakers BRACE Capacity Development Program

– Age between 18 and 40
– Registered and operating agribusiness
– Citizen of an African country
– Owner, representative, or decision maker of an AgriSME operating in Crop Production, Animal Production Sector, as a Producer, Processor, Marketer, Aggregator, etc.

– Use of a diagnostic tool to assess participants’ awareness of climate change impact on their agribusinesses and readiness to implement local solutions
– Hands-on assignments to ‘green’ participants’ agribusinesses, enhancing their ability to access climate financing opportunities
– A self-paced six-week online learning program with a practical climate curriculum
– Participation in peer-to-peer learning, networking, experience sharing, group discussions, assignments, and co-creation of solutions
– Access to industry experts, trainers, and agripreneurs through live interactive and mentoring sessions
– Provision of information, resources, and tools to support investments and decisions for sustainable climate solutions
– Opportunity to join the AFC hub community for additional resources, data, funding support, and market linkages to boost business visibility, profitability, growth, and success.

Time Commitment: African Food Changemakers BRACE Capacity Development Program

  1. Please ensure your attendance at the weekly live interactive sessions, which are scheduled for either Thursday or Friday evenings in various African time zones.
  2. It is important to complete the self-paced online modules within a span of 6 weeks. Additionally, make sure to submit all online course assignments and tasks.
  3. Dedicate a minimum of four (4) hours per week to effectively complete the modules and assignments.
