Applications open for the 2024 UNICEF Youth Advocates Programme

Applications for the 2024 UNICEF Youth Advocates Programme are now being accepted. UNICEF, in collaboration with United Nations Volunteers (UNV), has introduced this new initiative to recruit talented individuals. The main goal of UNICEF is to empower young people, including those with disabilities, to become advocates for change and defenders of children’s rights.

Following the success of the initial program in 2018-2019, which involved 42 Youth Advocates (aged 18-24) from 27 countries, UNICEF and UNV are now seeking the second group of advocates. They are looking for 20 young, enthusiastic, and skilled individuals to join them in advocating for the protection of children’s rights.

The Youth Advocates Programme provides young people with the opportunity to gain one year of professional experience through a National UN Volunteer (UNV) assignment with UNICEF. Additionally, they will be able to share their valuable insights into the organization’s work for children and young people. The selected Youth Advocates will have access to various learning and professional development opportunities, including online learning programs. Individuals with disabilities and those from under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Various assignments are available for Youth Advocates, such as U-Report and Youth Engagement Specialist in UNICEF Congo, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer in Democratic Republic of Congo, Child Protection Officer in UNICEF Liberia, and many more.
