Applications Open for SWEEAP Training Program For Women Entrepreneurs in Kano and Rivers States

This Scaling Women’s Economic Empowerment through Affirmative Procurement Reforms (SWEEAP) Training Program initiative is carried out by DO Take Action with the backing of the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund (CAPF) and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). This form is intended to identify and enroll eligible Women-Owned and Led Businesses (WOLBs) for involvement in the Scaling Women’s Economic Empowerment through Affirmative Procurement Reforms (SWEEAP) initiative.

The SWEEAP Training Program For Women Entrepreneurs is focused on empowering women entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary tools, training, and mentorship to effectively engage in procurement opportunities within both public and private sectors. Additionally, it advocates for inclusive procurement policies that foster gender equity in economic participation.

Eligibility Criteria – SWEEAP Training Program For Women Entrepreneurs in Kano and Rivers States

• – Women Entrepreneurs: The business must be owned or led by a woman in Kano or Rivers State.
• – Commitment to Participation: Applicants are required to commit to attending all training sessions.
• – Informal or Early-Stage Businesses: Preference will be given to those looking for assistance in formalizing their operations.
• – Financial Flexibility: There are no stringent financial requirements—businesses with limited financial means are encouraged to apply.
• – Willingness to Formalize: Participants should be prepared to formalize their business as part of the training.

Criteria for Women-Owned/Women-Led Businesses:

• – Women-Owned Enterprises: A minimum of 51% of the business must be owned by women.
• – Leadership Criteria: At least 20% ownership by women with women occupying key leadership positions (e.g., CEO, COO).
• – Board Representation: Priority will be given to businesses with at least 30% female representation on their board..
