Applications are now open for the IRENA YOUTH FORUM 2026
The IRENA Youth Forum 2026 will mark the eighth edition of the International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) premier platform for youth engagement, intergenerational dialogue, and renewable energy innovation.
This year, under the theme “Youth Innovation and Digital Solutions: From AI to Access in Renewable Energy”, the Forum will examine how young innovators are using artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and innovative business models to broaden access to renewable energy globally. Participants will include youth leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and partners, all collaborating to create solutions for a just and inclusive energy transition.
Objectives – IRENA Youth Forum 2026
- The Forum is designed to:
- Elevate youth voices in global energy and climate policy discussions.
- Build skills and capacities, enabling young people to design and scale impactful solutions.
- Highlight youth contributions to energy transition financing and explore ways for innovators to access capital.
- Strengthen partnerships among youth, governments, private sector, academia, and international organizations.

Programme Highlights – IRENA Youth Forum 2026
- 8-9 January: IRENA Youth Forum (Abu Dhabi) – includes High-Level Opening and interactive workshops.
- 10 January: Closing Session during the Sixteenth IRENA Assembly (St. Regis Saadiyat Island).
- Youth-led Activities: Youth Booth and Lounge (St. Regis) and IRENA Pavilion at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADNEC).

Who Can Apply? – IRENA Youth Forum 2026
- The Forum is open to young people aged 18-35 who are:
- Actively involved in renewable energy, sustainability, innovation, or related sectors.
- Leading or contributing to projects, startups, research, or advocacy initiatives advancing the energy transition.
- Eager to collaborate with peers and partners to create global impact.
