Application open for the Social Shifters Global Education Challenge ($10,000 funding)

The Fitch Group x Social Shifters Global Education Challenge aims to address the issue of education deprivation among children worldwide. According to UNESCO, an estimated 244 million children are unable to access education due to various social, economic, and cultural factors.

Our Shared Education Challenge

Education is not just a privilege but a fundamental human right that empowers individuals to improve their socio-economic status and break free from the cycle of poverty. Shockingly, there are currently 244 million children and young people who are not enrolled in schools, and approximately 70% of 10-year-olds struggle to comprehend basic written text. This crisis in education is perpetuated by high levels of poverty, exclusion, and gender inequality, which hinder millions of individuals from acquiring knowledge.

Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the existing disparities in education access and quality. It has also led to increased insecurity due to violence, armed conflicts, natural disasters, and the erosion of women’s rights. In light of these challenges, it is crucial to reimagine education and develop innovative solutions that cater to the diverse needs of children and young people worldwide.
