UNESCO World Heritage Residence Scholarship for cultural creators and researchers

The Residence Scholarship for the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland (Hälsingegårdar) was established in 2018. It is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who have cultural, artistic, or research ideas related to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The aim is to connect the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland with other World Heritage sites.

In 2018, the region of Gävleborg in Sweden introduced the international World Heritage Residence Scholarship at the World Heritage site ‘Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland’. This scholarship aligns with UNESCO’s goal of fostering international cooperation and promoting peace through cultural connections. It aims to generate interest and appreciation for our shared human history through World Heritage sites. Gävleborg actively seeks new ideas to establish artistic and creative collaborations between the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland and other World Heritage sites worldwide, encompassing various forms of culture, music, art, and more.

Requirements:
The scholarship is open to individuals from all over the world, making it an international opportunity.

Benefits:
The World Heritage Residence Scholarship offers two components: a one-month residency at one of Hälsingland’s seven World Heritage farms, and a grant of approximately 4,500 Euros (50,000 SKR) to cover living and project expenses.

To apply, please submit your application between December 15th, 2023, and February 15th, 2024. This is your chance to be part of a remarkable program that celebrates and connects World Heritage sites.
