The 25th International AIDS Conference Scholarship Programme (Fully Funded) is now open

Applications for the 25th International AIDS Conference Scholarship are now being accepted. The 25th International AIDS Conference, or AIDS 2024, will be held virtually from July 22–26, 2024, in Munich, Germany. Selected applicants from all over the world can receive financial support from the AIDS 2024 Scholarship Program to attend AIDS 2024 in person or virtually.

The scholarship also covers the cost of attending the pre-conferences for AIDS 2024, which are held in the conference venue on July 21 and 22. The program is meant for people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to attend AIDS 2024. It encourages applications from participants in the conference program as well as those who can show that they will use the knowledge and abilities they learn there to their job they undertake in their own organizations and communities

You are welcome to apply for a scholarship for AIDS 2024, the 25th International AIDS Conference, which takes place virtually from July 22–26 in Munich, Germany, and if you are at least eighteen (18) years old on July 20, 2024, and working, volunteering, or studying in the field of HIV. The scholarship also covers the cost of attending the pre-conferences for AIDS 2024, which are held in the conference venue on July 21 and 22.

Qualifications

  • Anyone who is at least eighteen years old on July 20, 2024, and who works, volunteers, or studies in the field of HIV is eligible to apply for the AIDS 2024 Scholarship Program. First place will go to:
  • Presenters of abstracts; workshop coordinators and co-coordinators; and organizers and co-organizers of Global Village, whose submission has been accepted for the conference
  • Candidates from middle-class and low-income nations Candidates who belong to underrepresented groups and individuals living with HIV
  • Young individuals and junior researchers under the age of thirty-five
  • Qualifications for applicants who have never before been awarded a scholarship for an international AIDS conference

Candidates listed below will be given precedence:

  • Presenters of abstracts; workshop coordinators and co-coordinators; and organizers and co-organizers of Global Village, whose submission has been accepted for the conference
  • Candidates from lower-income and lower-middle-income nations Candidates who belong to important demographics Candidates who are HIV positive
  • Young individuals and junior researchers under the age of thirty-five
    Applicants for an International AIDS Conference who have never before been awarded a scholarship

Financial assistance categories

  • The International AIDS Society, or IAS, will provide AIDS 2024 scholarships through both in-person and online means.
  • Attendance in person: Registration includes both in-person and virtual access (to all sessions at the conference location and the virtual platform).
  • Travel assistance (a pre-paid return economy class ticket from the closest international airport in your home country) for the conference and pre-conference dates
  • For the duration of the conference and its pre-conferences, lodging (a single room at an inexpensive hotel)
    Allowance for daily life during the pre-conference and conference

Attendance in person:

Online registration required for virtual participation, which includes access to all hybrid conference sessions.

    February/March 2024: Examining and choosing
    Early in April 2024: Results announcement

How to Apply:

  • Interested individuals must fill out an application that includes questions about their background, experience, and reasons for attending the conference. They will need to attach a recommendation letter that needs to:
  • be written in English and signed by a boss or coworker who may serve as your reference who is aware of your work, volunteer work, or HIV studies.
  • Add a letterhead from the institution, business, or organization that your referee works for.
    be signed (original or digital signature) by your referee and dated within two months of the date that you submitted your application.
  • Make specific mention of you and your support for your AIDS 2024 scholarship application, outlining your qualifications for the award.
