Future of Film Africa Incubation Program is a collaboration between Sèmè City and Future of Film, the leading global innovator in the film industry. Our mission is to discover and empower the next generation of content creators, giving them an extraordinary chance to bring captivating and original stories to life.

But Future of Film Africa is more than just an incubation program. It’s a one-of-a-kind creative adventure that combines cutting-edge technologies with innovative storytelling practices. We offer young creators an unparalleled experience to refine their talent, explore groundbreaking production methods, and connect with experienced mentors.

Supported by the World Bank, our program aims to equip participants with the skills they need to develop their projects from concept to a market-ready proposal, showcasing the creative brilliance “made in Africa”.

Requirements

  • We welcome a diverse range of creative profiles, from filmmakers and photographers to vloggers, students, and anyone passionate about creating multimedia content.
  • The program is open to a multitude of creative from 18 to 35 years old .
  • Whether you have an immersive virtual reality adventure, an exciting podcast, a powerful web series, or a captivating video game in mind, we encourage all original and daring projects.
  • Projects with the potential to be deployed across multiple platforms and demonstrate strong commercial viability will be given priority. We value all ideas, big or small, as long as they are original, have a clear purpose, and appeal to a defined audience.
  • You can participate in the program individually or as a team.

How it works

  • The program operates in two phases, the first being virtual and consisting of masterclasses, networking, and one-on-one development with Future of Film.
  • Selected projects will also receive professional audience research testing. After this phase, three projects will be chosen to continue in more advanced stages of the program with personalized support.
  • These final projects will have the opportunity to be presented to influential executives, financiers, and buyers from the screen industries sector.
  • The ultimate goal is to successfully fund final projects and empower participants to build sustainable businesses based on their creations.
  • The program is delivered in English, but participants can submit projects in French or other languages as long as they can complete the training modules and present their work in English.

  • Attach a portfolio and express your passion for content creation, demonstrating how your project stands out and makes a unique contribution to the world of storytelling and digital content production.
