Nominations open for World Food Forum Youth Assembly consultation cycle 2024.
The World Food Forum (WFF) extends an invitation to Members of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Forum partners to nominate Youth Representatives and Observers for the World food Forum Youth Assembly consultation cycle 2024. The Youth Assembly offers a dedicated, inclusive, and self-organized platform for youth engagement in advocacy and policy discussions within agrifood systems.
The Youth Assembly will commence its sessions in March 2024, featuring thematic and regional virtual meetings that will continue throughout the year, culminating in the main hybrid session during the WFF flagship event from 14 to 18 October 2024 in Rome, Italy. A comprehensive agenda will soon be accessible to delegations on the Youth Assembly’s website. The 2024 WFF cycle revolves around the overarching theme “Good food for all, today and tomorrow.”
Eligibility
To be eligible for nomination as Youth Representatives and Observers, individuals must be under the age of 36 and may include members of youth organizations/networks related to food, agriculture, development, climate, or other pertinent fields; stakeholders such as young farmers, fisherfolk, Indigenous Peoples, etc.; young members of national institutions like ministries or cabinets; students in agrifood systems disciplines; and past/current youth delegates to the United Nations or international conferences.
Nominations
- FAO Members and Forum partners are encouraged to submit their nominations for Youth Representatives and Observers for the WFF Youth Assembly consultation cycle 2024 to [email protected].
- Nominations should include the nominee’s full name, professional/academic background, current institutional affiliation, and email address.
- Additionally, indicate the lead representative/observer responsible for receiving and disseminating communication materials to the group.
- Specify whether the nominees will be attending the 2024 flagship event in October in person.
- The WFF Secretariat cannot provide any financial support for travel and accommodation.
- Accreditatio and /invitation letters will be issued to facilitate visa requests, and Italian authorities will be informed accordingly.
