Leventis Foundation (Nigeria) One-Year Training Programme in Modern and Sustainable Agriculture (Funded) is now open

The Leventis Foundation in Nigeria is a charitable organization dedicated to providing training in modern and sustainable agricultural practices and the rational use of natural resources to youth and farmers. Since 1987, the Foundation has been conducting agricultural training programs for young people and farmers. Currently, there are six agricultural training schools established in different agro-ecological zones of Nigeria, with funding from both the Leventis Foundation and the respective State Governments of FCT, Osun, Kano, and Gombe.

These schools offer comprehensive one-year training to young individuals who aspire to build successful careers in farming and agribusiness. The training covers various aspects of agriculture, agricultural value chains, and other farm-related businesses. The primary objective of this training, which is completely free for the beneficiaries, is to cultivate a new generation of dedicated and practical farmers in Nigeria. These individuals will serve as catalysts for an agricultural revolution in their communities, while also contributing to the advancement of the food system.

Requirements

Admission to the training program is open to both male and female candidates. Successful applicants will receive free tuition, boarding, and meals throughout the course. In addition to meeting other requirements, such as being physically fit and demonstrating an interest in agriculture, candidates must also pass written and oral tests before final selection. While a farming background is advantageous, it is not a mandatory requirement for admission.
