About the position:
As a Silicon Engineering Intern, you’ll be part of a team that designs and develops the hardware, software, and networking technologies that power Google’s services. From circuit design to system design, you’ll be involved in every step of the process, including high volume manufacturing. Your work will have a direct impact on the machinery used in data centers, ultimately affecting Google users. With the opportunity to join various teams, you’ll have a chance to explore different areas of interest.

If you’re a Silicon Performance Architect Engineer, your role will involve developing architecture models, analysis tools, and simulation infrastructure for our silicon products. As a Silicon Power Engineer, you’ll have the chance to model power considerations for key components, taking into account architecture, design, implementation, and process. And as an Image Signal Processing Engineer, you’ll collaborate with a team of experts to develop Image Signal Processors.

The specific team you’ll join as an intern will depend on project needs and your technical strengths. At Google, we’re an engineering company at heart. Position: Intern & Apprentice

Minimum qualifications:

  • Candidates currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD  in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or any related technical field.
  • Academic coursework in computer architecture (e.g., core, cache, memory, etc.).
  • Experience with C/C++ or RTL.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience designing/implementing or validating RTL design (core, cache, fabric, memory, codec, etc.).
  • Experience in SoC development environment.
  • Knowledge of OS, Firmware, or software stack.
  • Knowledge of performance or power architecture, power estimation, modeling, or optimization of processor or ASIC.
  • Excellent scripting language, C/C++ programming, and software design skills.
