Government Of Brunei Darussalam Scholarships 2024/2025 For Foreign Students (Fully Funded To Brunei) Now Open

The Brunei Ministry of Foreign Affairs is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for the prestigious Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship. This incredible opportunity allows you to pursue your studies at various levels, including Diploma, Undergraduate Degree, and Postgraduate Master’s Degree, at renowned institutions in Brunei.

Eligibility

• Before you apply, it’s important to ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements.
• For Undergraduate and Diploma programs, applicants must be under the age of 25.
• For Postgraduate Master’s Degree programs, the age limit is 35. Additionally, proficiency in English is a must, with a minimum credit of 6 at the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination, a Grade ‘C’ in IGCSE English (as a second language), or an IELTS score of 6.0 or a TOEFL minimum score of 550.
• Please note that this scholarship is primarily intended for international students who will be studying in Brunei Darussalam for the first time.
• Unfortunately, Bruneians, Brunei Permanent Residents, and students who have previously studied in Brunei tertiary institutions are not eligible.

Scholarship worth

• Now, let’s talk about the exciting part – the scholarship worth!
• Once your application is successful and a scholarship is offered, you will receive a full listing of the terms and conditions.
• Upon acceptance of the scholarship, you will be required to sign a declaration confirming your understanding and agreement to these terms and conditions.

The scholarship recipient will receive a range of benefits, including exemption from paying tuition fees for the entire program.

• This includes acceptance, examination, registration, and orientation fees.
• Additionally, the recipient will be provided with an economy class air-ticket to Brunei Darussalam from their country of origin or domicile before the course begins, as well as a return ticket upon completion of the course.
• To support their living expenses, the recipient will receive a monthly personal allowance of BND$500.00, as well as a monthly meals allowance of BND$150.00.
• They will also be granted an annual book allowance of BND$600.00.
• Accommodation will be provided at the residential college of the University/Polytechnic.
• The scholarship recipient will also be eligible for a baggage allowance to ship their personal belongings back to their country of origin or domicile upon completing the program.
• The maximum amount for this allowance is BND$250.00 for countries within the ASEAN region, and BND$500.00 for countries outside the ASEAN region.
• Furthermore, the scholarship recipient will be covered by comprehensive insurance for the entire duration of the scholarship.
• However, it is recommended that they obtain additional insurance at their own expense before traveling to Brunei Darussalam and for the entire duration of the scholarship.

Application Procedure

1. The deadline for submitting your Scholarship application is 15th February 2024.
2. As part of the application process, you may be required to attend an interview at a location determined by the institutions offering the programs. Additionally, you may need to take a written examination to assess your proficiency in the English/Malay/Arabic Language, if applicable.
3. Please note that the Government of Brunei Darussalam reserves the right to reject any applications. The decision on the selection of candidates is final, and any disputes or inquiries regarding the decision will not be entertained.
4. When filling out the application form, make sure to upload certified true copies of your academic qualifications and other supporting documents, such as certificates, testimonials, and transcripts. If any of these documents are not in English, please provide certified English translations. You will also need to include certified true copies of your Birth Certificate and Passport, as well as references and recommendations from referees (C1 and C2).
