Entries open for the Orange Corners Designs Programme

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Orange Corners Designs Programme. This program, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and initiated by the CDI, is seeking visionary individuals who are ready to grow their businesses and make a positive impact in under-resourced communities. The first Cape Town cohort of the programme will begin in July 2024.

If you are a dynamic young entrepreneur with a passion for innovation and a drive for social change, this opportunity is for you. The programme aims to incubate participants for a period of 10-12 months, providing intensive business and mentoring intervention.

Sectors: Orange Corners Designs Programme

The Orange Corners | Designs Programme focuses on industries such as green, digital, gender equity, and the creative economy.
Priority will be given to ventures led by youth and women entrepreneurs in under-resourced communities.

Eligibility: Orange Corners Designs Programme

1. Focus: Priority will be given to ventures led by young entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs in underprivileged communities.
2. Legal and Regulatory Compliance: The business must be registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) or be a sole trader. It should also comply with tax regulations and other legal requirements.
3. Track Record: The enterprise should have a proven history and traction in the market. Alternatively, the applicant should possess market research skills or relevant experience.
4. Viable Idea: The applicant must have conducted market research to ensure the viability of their idea.
5. Commitment: The applicant should demonstrate a strong dedication to the entrepreneurial journey and showcase their ability to overcome challenges with resilience and perseverance.
6. Vision, Mission, and Purpose: It is essential to clearly articulate a vision for social change and community empowerment.
7. Innovation: The business should offer innovative products, services, or opportunities that address pressing needs in their communities or regions.
8. Basic Business Information: The applicant should provide operational, financial, and other relevant information about their business.
9. Must be willing/able to take time off from the business.
