Entries open: Amazon Web Services AI & Machine Learning Scholarship Program
Applications are now being accepted for the 2024 Amazon Web Services AI & Machine Learning Scholarship Program. This initiative, in partnership with Udacity, is designed for individuals who are either new to the field of AI or seeking to enter it. The program aims to equip students worldwide with essential skills necessary for careers in technology. Participants will engage in a thorough AI training curriculum crafted by AWS professionals, allowing them to work on practical projects, receive guidance from industry mentors, and utilize various career resources.
Requirements – Amazon Web Services AI & Machine Learning Scholarship Program
Students aged 16 and older who identify as underserved or underrepresented in the technology sector and are currently enrolled in high school or college are eligible to apply (subject to the terms and conditions set forth by Udacity).
To prequalify for the scholarship, applicants must meet two criteria on the AWS DeepRacer Student platform:
1. Complete the coursework and pass the assessments. To be eligible, candidates must achieve a score of 80% or higher on all mandatory assessments within the AWS DeepRacer Student learning modules. Each assessment corresponds to different chapters available in the Learn section of the AWS DeepRacer Student navigation pane.
2. Attain a minimum single lap time. From March to September, a new leaderboard is introduced each month in the AWS DeepRacer Student League, featuring a unique track design. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must complete a single lap in under 2 minutes on any leaderboard.

Enroll in AWS DeepRacer Student: Complimentary for students aged 16 and above worldwide.
Fulfill the application prerequisites through AWS DeepRacer Student to qualify and prepare for the scholarship competition. These prerequisites will provide you with foundational knowledge in machine learning by constructing and racing an autonomous vehicle within a 3D simulated environment.
New Generative AI Course: Complimentary for all scholarship applicants.
Obtain your unique application code and apply via Udacity. By submitting your application, you will receive free access to the optional course titled “Introducing Generative AI with AWS,” valued at $250 USD. This course will equip you with practical insights and explore the applications of generative AI.
Nanodegree Scholarship Opportunity: Scholarship 1 (2,000 students)
Acquire skills-based training through the Udacity nanodegree program, AI Programming with Python. Annually, 2,000 recipients are granted a scholarship valued at $4,000 USD to engage in AI projects and learn essential programming tools.
Advanced Scholarship and Mentorship: Scholarship 2 (Top 500 students)
Outstanding students who complete the AI Programming with Python Nanodegree may qualify for a scholarship for the advanced AWS ML Fundamentals Nanodegree, which encompasses deep learning and machine learning engineering concepts, along with mentorship from industry professionals.

The scholarship fully covers tuition for Udacity’s Nanodegree program. Throughout the program, participants will acquire knowledge in AI and receive guidance from experts.
This initiative is tailored to assist individuals in commencing their journey in Machine Learning (ML) without any prior technical expertise.
