Entries now open for the 2024 edition of the Youth-Led Action for the SDGs (€5,000 in grant) by the EU Youth Empowerment Fund. The Open Call is now live as part of the EU Empowerment Fund (YEF) and the Big Six – Global Youth Mobilization (GYM) collaboration, aimed at empowering young individuals to instigate positive transformations within their communities.

The European Union, in conjunction with the Global Youth Mobilization (GYM) initiative by the world’s largest youth organizations—the “Big Six”—is initiating the OPEN CALL for applications to the EU YOUTH EMPOWERMENT FUND THROUGH THE GLOBAL YOUTH MOBILIZATION, open until July 21. This call seeks to support creative local initiatives by young individuals that contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within their communities.
The Open Call is designed to provide micro-grant funding to support community-based projects led by individual young people or youth groups addressing sustainable development challenges within their local communities. The primary goal of this initiative is to enhance the involvement of marginalized youth, such as those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, individuals experiencing gender equality issues, or young people with disabilities. Funding opportunities range from 500 to 1500 EUR for individual young people and informal groups, while registered youth organizations can apply for grants between 3000 and 5000 EUR.

- The process of selection Youth panellists will be responsible for evaluating, scoring, and deliberating on applications during panel sessions.
- The Youth Panel consists of a variety of young people from different parts of the globe who possess expertise in social endeavors and comprehend the obstacles and requirements of youth-driven ventures.
- Successful candidates will be informed of their project’s acceptance within a 2-month period and will be required to sign a grant contract and provide their banking details.
- Unsuccessful candidates will receive suggestions via email on how to enhance their future submissions.
