Eligibility Criteria – Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Fellowships Program
Applicants for the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Fellowships Program must be citizens or permanent residents of any nation. Those from countries outside the United States are required to possess a valid passport and must be able to secure a J-1 visa, even if they are currently residing in the United States. Academic candidates are expected to be at the post-doctoral level and must have published a book or monograph that extends beyond their Ph.D. dissertation. Selection Process – Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Fellowships Program
Applications that meet the eligibility criteria will undergo a comprehensive multi-stage review process. This includes evaluations by experts within the Wilson Center as well as assessments by external specialists with relevant expertise. The final decisions regarding grant awards are subject to the approval of the Center’s Fellowship Committee of the Board of Trustees and are contingent upon available funding.
Stipend
The Center provides a stipend of $90,000 for a fellowship lasting nine months. Fellows are responsible for their own health insurance and travel expenses.
Duration of Appointment.
1. Fellows are required to reside for the entirety of the U.S. academic year, which spans from early September to May. In certain instances, fellowships may be granted for shorter durations, with a minimum commitment of four months.

A complete application must consist of the following components:
– The Fellowship Application Form;
– A current CV, limited to three pages; the Center will only accept the initial three pages. Please list your publications separately. You may include an explanation for any gaps in your CV. Additionally, you may add a section detailing any awards or opportunities you were offered but could not accept for personal or other reasons. We recognize that such situations can arise, and that CVs may vary significantly.
– A list of your publications, including exact titles, publisher names, publication dates, and the status of any forthcoming publications (not to exceed three pages);
– A Project Proposal, limited to five single-spaced typed pages in 12-point font; the Center reserves the right to exclude from review any applications that exceed the specified page limit;
– A bibliography for the project that includes both primary and relevant secondary sources (not to exceed three pages);
– Two letters of reference.
