Entries are now open for the Iso Lomso Fellowships 2024 for Early Career African Researchers (Fully Funded). Iso Lomso, which means ‘the eye of tomorrow’ in isiXhosa, is a program designed for African scholars who have recently obtained a doctoral degree and hold an academic position at a university or research institution in Africa. The program aims to support these scholars in developing their research programs and becoming established scholars in their respective fields.

The Iso Lomso fellowships offer a three-year attachment to STIAS, allowing fellows to focus on their long-term research projects. The program welcomes scholars from all disciplines.

To be eligible for the 2024 call, applicants must be African nationals born after January 1, 1981. They should have an affiliation with a research or higher education institution in Africa and have obtained a doctoral degree after January 1, 2016. Additionally, applicants should have completed a post-doctoral fellowship or a similar research program. Successful candidates should be able to begin their residency at STIAS in 2025.
