Canon Student Development Programme Applications are now open
Applications are currently being accepted for the Canon Student Development Programme 2024. This program offers a unique opportunity for aspiring photographers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to enhance their careers and take the next step towards becoming professional photographers. By participating in this program, students will have the chance to meet industry experts and have their portfolios professionally evaluated.
Canon Student Development Programme Eligibility
- To be eligible for the program, applicants must be 18 years or older as of March 7, 2024, and reside in the EMEA region.
- They should have either started or completed an education course or internship with an agency or magazine during the academic year 2023-2024.
- Alternatively, they can be nominated or endorsed by a professional from the photographic industry.
Canon Student Development Programme Benefits
- The program offers several benefits to selected participants.
- Up to 100 applicants will receive one-on-one mentorships from editors at top media agencies such as AFP, EPA, Getty Images, and Reuters.
- The top 25 students will be invited to a career-defining 4-day workshop in Girona, Spain.
- Following the workshop, the students will have the opportunity to attend Visa pour l’Image, the renowned international festival of photojournalism in Perpignan, France.
- Additionally, three students will be awarded a €2k grant and Canon equipment to produce a new project.
Canon Student Development Programme Selection
- The selection process involves a panel of Canon representatives and external industry professionals from leading media agencies.
- Submissions will be evaluated based on narrative skill, authenticity, storyline, bio, and overall quality of the portfolio and project proposal.
Canon Student Development Programme Application
- To apply for the program, applicants must meet the age requirement and either be a student, intern, or have completed their course in the 2023-24 academic year.
- A limited number of spots are available for participants nominated by the industry, regardless of their education journey.
- While the program is open to individuals from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, participants must have sufficient proficiency in English to fully engage in the program.
