CANEX Africa @ Portugal Fashion Programme for African Fashion Designers is now open
A call for applications has been launched by African Export-Import Bank’s Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) and Portugal’s National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) for Fashion Designers from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Diaspora to participate in CANEX Presents Africa @ Portugal Fashion.Creative8
This flagship programme aims to provide a platform for emerging fashion designers to develop their skills, gain market access opportunities, and boost production, sales, and distribution.
The programme also focuses on equipping participants with the necessary skills to create financially sustainable businesses and offers support with go-to-market and internationalization strategies.
CANEX Presents Africa @ Portugal Fashion follows a blended format, combining physical events with digital elements to facilitate linkages and partnerships. It is designed to support entry to mid-level talent through a customized approach, ensuring individual support and recognition of talent.
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must be based in Africa or the Diaspora (including the Caribbean). Designers should have a strong signature style and be able to compete at an international level.
Their companies must be registered, well-established, and have been in business for a minimum of 4 years. The programme is open to both menswear and womenswear designers.
For the March Edition, the target is to select 10 Fashion Designers for the FW24/25 collection. The event will take place from 12-16 March 2024 in Porto, Portugal, with the finalists being announced on 15 January 2024.
To apply, designers must submit their applications in electronic format to the review panel. The submissions should be sent to [email protected] with the subject line: “FIRST and LAST NAME, CANEX MARCH 2024 Application.”
