Calling All Future Leaders: Become a Youth AgriChampion with the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Youth AgriChampions workshop series, organized by the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC). This initiative aims to bring together approximately 15 young individuals involved in smallholder farming and agricultural entrepreneurship from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Zambia.

The participants will have the opportunity to share their firsthand experiences in adapting their practices to climate change. The workshops, scheduled for July 2024, will culminate in the development of a youth demand paper, which will be presented at high-level political forums by BKMC co-chair and former UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon.

ELIGIBILITY: Youth AgriChampions

1. The focus of the demand paper will be on locally-led adaptation for smallholder farming.
2. To be eligible for the workshop series, applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35,
3. Must be citizens of Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, or Zambia,
4. Have either worked on a climate adaptation project or possess expertise in the field.
5. Additionally, a strong interest in agriculture, climate change, and food systems is required.
6. Participants must be able to fully commit to attending all three workshops in July 2024 and allocate time for preparation in between.
