Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) Scholarship Program for Young Africans
- The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) is pleased to announce the 7th round of our Global Citizen Scholarship Program. This highly successful program aims to empower young African global citizens who are passionate about making a difference in the world by addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).The GC Scholarship is a fully virtual program that enables young African change-makers to propose and implement localized SDG Micro-Projects in their communities. In addition to this, selected Scholars will have the opportunity to participate in a summer school, receive peer-to-peer mentoring, and attend expert trainings and workshops on specific topics.

Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens Scholarship Program
- The program will commence in April 2024 and will span over 8-9 months. During this time, Scholars will have the chance to enhance their skills and knowledge on the Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, as well as develop their understanding of entrepreneurship for sustainable development. They will also have the opportunity to expand their professional networks.
The benefits of the program include full coverage of expenses for a one-week Summer School training with MCI Innsbruck, as well as coverage for other expert workshops. Scholars will also receive a peer-to-peer mentoring component and seed funding of 500 USD to support the implementation of their SDG Micro-Project. Upon successful completion of their project proposal, Scholars will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement signed by both Co-chairs of the Ban Ki-moon Centre.

Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens Scholarship Program Eligibility
- African youth regardless of race or gender
- Applicants must hold citizenship of one of the following African countries:
- Ghana
- Nigeria
- Cameroon
- Ethiopia
- Kenya
- Age group 20-35
- Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree
- Applicants must demonstrate dedication to SDGs and global citizenship.
- Applicants must have English level B2 (European Standards)
