Apply to participate in the Take on Squad Hackathon 1.0 for Young Innovators by HabariPay’s Squad (N2.5 million award)

HabariPay’s Squad is excited to announce the launch of its very first hackathon, “Take on Squad Hackathon 1.0,” as part of its mission to empower businesses and young innovators in Africa. This social coding event will take place on January 19th and 20th, 2023, at the state-of-the-art GTCO Training Complex, Tayo’s Plaza, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Take on Squad Hackathon 1.0 is specifically aimed at young innovators in Nigerian universities and other tertiary institutions. It challenges competing teams to come up with innovative solutions to problems within their immediate community and society as a whole. The hackathon aims to make a positive impact on young Nigerians by providing them with a platform to develop their technological skills and collaborate on practical, innovative tech solutions. Participants will also have the exclusive opportunity to utilize Squad’s cutting-edge APIs to bring their ideas to life.

This two-day event promises to be action-packed, with intense coding sessions on the first day, followed by product demos, panel discussions, and the announcement of winners on the second day. The team with the most innovative idea will receive a prize of N2.5 million, while the first runner-up will be awarded N1.5 million, and the third-placed team will receive N1 million. Furthermore, the top three teams will have the unique chance to join the Squad Hackademy, where they will receive mentorship and gain access to internships and job opportunities facilitated by Squad.

He emphasized their commitment to providing simple and innovative solutions to everyday challenges faced by small and mid-sized businesses across Africa through Squad. The Take on Squad Hackathon serves as the first of many initiatives to provide young and ambitious students with a platform to engage with technology, showcase their creativity, and demonstrate their problem-solving skills.
