ELIGIBILITY FOR THE Google Conference Scholarships (Africa)

  1. Eligibility criteria for the scholarship to attend an international conference are as follows:
  2. – Must be a full-time student registered with a recognized university in Africa seeking financial assistance for conference travel.
  3. – Must have a research paper accepted at a top-tier computer science conference, preferably in areas of interest to Google. For a list of these areas, please refer to research.google.com.
  4. – Must be the primary or joint first author of the accepted paper.
  5. – Google employees are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Additionally, individuals residing in embargoed countries or subject to export controls and sanctions programs are not eligible to apply.

CLAIM PROCESS FOR THE Google Conference Scholarships (Africa)

  1. We assess applications continuously throughout the year, so successful applicants can expect to hear back from us within approximately four weeks of applying.
  2. We advise that you apply for the grant well ahead of the Conference start date, as it may take between 5-8 weeks for the payment process to be completed.
  3. Once a travel grant has been approved, the funds will be disbursed to the applicant’s university, and the student can then claim expenses using the standard university procedures.
