Following an Open Call for Applications we provide financial support for Development, Production, Postproduction and Impact Production of Documentary films to filmmakers and producers from the African continent. We also provide project support to documentary organisations working within the continent to develop, execute, monitor, and evaluate projects which may include: Trainings (workshops, residencies, labs), Mentorships, Festivals, and Film markets.
Documentary Africa (DocA) Short Film Grants has a longstanding commitment to supporting African filmmakers at various stages of their projects. With the introduction of the Shoot Your Short initiative, we are pleased to expand our support to short-form documentary content. This year, DocA will be providing grants amounting to $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria: Documentary Africa (DocA) Short Film Grants for African Film Makers ($5,000)
To qualify, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
– Be African producers of African nationality residing on the continent.
– Have completed at least one prior film.
– Commit to finalizing the short film within one year of receiving the grant.
– Ensure the film’s duration is under 20 minutes.
