The NG-Cares Grant Programme Batch 2 is back and is specifically aimed at helping Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This state-level intervention, which is part of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (CARES) Program, seeks to mitigate the local impacts of the global pandemic by protecting the livelihoods of vulnerable households and supporting the recovery of local economic activities, with a particular focus on MSMEs.

The NG-Cares Grant Programme is working in partnership with the World Bank, the Federal Government, and the Bank of Industry (BOI) to support the survival of SMEs across Nigeria’s states. The program is implementing three Delivery Link Indicators (DLIs) to achieve this:

DLI 3.1 (Credit Enhancement Grants): Provides financial support to distressed MSEs.
DLI 3.2 (Operations Grants): Offers one-off grants covering operational expenses such as salaries, rent, and utilities.
DLI 3.3 (IT Enhancement Grant): Facilitates grants for adopting digital technology and integrating platforms.

To apply for Batch 2, no documentation upload is required. The registration form only requires basic business information such as Business Name, Business Type (Industry), Industry Subtype, Business Establishment Date, Number of Employees, Head of Business (Last Name, First Name, Date of Birth, Phone Number, Email, Gender), State and Local Government Area (LGA) of Business, and Current Monthly Sales in Naira.

The application process for NG-Cares Grant Programme Batch 2 in 2023 involves three stages: Application Stage, Vetting Stage, and Enumeration Stage.

Successful applications move to the vetting phase, and if vetted, additional business information will be required. If not approved, applicants will receive notification on the reason for non-approval. To check the vetting status, applicants can input their phone number on the Plax application platform after applying.
